The Daihatsu Tanto Exe Custom, a more sports-oriented version of the Tanto Exe with sports styling, was launched simultaneously. The Daihatsu Tanto Exe and Tanto Exe Custom are both available with a 659cc petrol engine, mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox on front wheel drive models and CVT on four wheel drive models.

Subaru Lucra

On April 20, 2010, the Subaru Lucra was launched in the Japanese Domestic Market. Due to Subaru's strengthened alliance with Daihatsu and Toyota (announced October 3, 2008), Subaru has been able to launch the Lucra to market. Essentially the Subaru Lucra is a rebadged Daihatsu Tanto Exe, and the Subaru Lucra Custom is a rebadged Daihatsu Tanto Exe Custom.
